The Corpse of Clay McRoberts
Percusionist
Like the shell of an old drum
The wood decaying
and
The metal hardware rusted and broken
Lies here
To be consumed by maggots
But the sound shall not be silenced
For it was as he believed
Be heard once more
On a new and better quality drum
Built and crafted
To be played by the author.
- Clay McRoberts, with thanks to Ben Franklin
